venad was the southernmost nadu of the kulasekhara empire during the period 800-1102 a.d.(the
southern most kingdom of peninsular india)
the later chera empire of the kulashekara perumals of kerala, appears to have
been a confederacy wherein some
provinces are nadus were under heriditary governovers right from 9th century a.d.
this
land was later known as the modern travancore
